Before that visit to the Doctor he would eat fast food most days of the week. That would look like pizza and soda or hamburgers and french fries. It&nbsp;would be that way every week day for lunch and it really added up to a bigger belly and high cholesterol.<br /><br />The diet change and addition of nutritional supplements has already turned the number on my husbands tri-glycerides to a manageable level. He took prescribed medication while we were adjusting his food intake. But now he no longer needs the prescription and is holding steady with diet and nutritional supplements. I am so proud of him. The added bonus of all this change is that he has lost inches in his belly. My husband's jeans and shirts are loser on him. I just love giving him hugs these days!<br />&nbsp;<br />Every day he takes the nutritional supplements. He eats well Monday through Friday. But the weekends are his own. He can eat whatever he wants. His tastes have changes somewhat though and he stays away from the sodas and hamburgers. He still likes fries and pizza. We indulge on those foods Saturday and Sunday. There is an all in one machine section, a few treadmills and elliptical machines. It is nothing to write home about but it has helped me complete a weight loss goal. The problem with this gym is the windows are never open so it can get stagnate quick especially if no one turns on the wall air conditioning unit. This was exactly what happened the other night. I came in while there was already one person on the treadmill and one on weights. It was a comfortable temp at first so I didn’t check the AC, which wasn’t on. After going a solid mile, the clear pane windows within each door were dripping with humidity. At this point, I was in the zone and did not want to turn the fan on. <br /><br />All three of us worked out in sauna like conditions burning mad vitamins minerals. I left after 45 minutes probably five pounds lighter. It was more weight loss then I had planned on but I gained it back right after pounding a liter of water. ]]></description>

There are many aspects of my life that I changed to encompass the crazy weight loss routine that I decided to commit to from smaller things, like watching what I eat during the day and not eating before I go to bed, to larger things, like taking weight loss nutrition supplements daily and really working out a lot more. I have also found that things I used to love doing, like riding my skateboard, jogging and biking have also greatly assisted me in my weight loss routine, and the results truly speak for themselves my dear readers. Over the past nine or ten months I have safely and quickly dropped about thirty some odd pounds and kept it off. I have learned the hard way that focusing on only one of these categories may help but it truly takes a complete lifestyle change to make weight loss stick.<br /><br />Things that I have removed from my diet that showed pretty quick results were soda, beer, bread, fast food and sweets.&nbsp;I stay away from these items during the week. Friday is my cheat day where I can indulge in whatever I like including those items mentioned above. That takes care of any nasty cravings I may have during the week. This game plan has helped me to maintain weight loss.<br /><br />I have increased my weekly workouts by adding a few more classes.&nbsp;I take muscle conditioning, aerobics and pilates. The combination of these classes results in a well rounded&nbsp;workout that helps keep my weight loss steady.<br /><br />Weight loss will not occur unless the attitude revolves around health and fitness. I find that if I am not into it I can really slip up. Small slips are &quot;ok&quot; though. It seems to me that one of the main reasons that people fail at weight loss endeavors is that they over-think it. My husband managed to drop forty pounds in six months just after we first met while working in Athens, Greece. How did he achieve this significant weight loss achievement? The truth is that he did it gradually without really trying or thinking about it. First of all the way my husband ate changed when he was in Greece because he began to consume a Mediterranean diet which comprises of plenty of fish, lean meat, fruit, salad and vegetables. &nbsp;What’s more because my husband was in a major metropolis there was no need for him to drive everywhere so he walked instead. Then when summer came along we spent our weekends swimming in the hotel pool where my husband was staying or in the warm waters of the Aegean Sea. &nbsp;My husband’s weight loss was healthy too. He lost it at a rate of about two pounds per week so that he didn’t really notice until he returned to the US and all of his friends and relatives were impressed. <br />]]></description>

So far, she is looking great and is keeping up her effort of eating foods with essential nutrition in them. This time she is taking her weight loss slow with exercising three or four times a week and cooking low-fat meals using lots of veggies and herbs.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </span>She will definitely be getting her vitamins minerals eating all the right veggies, but does take vitamins nutrition just in case she doesn’t get all the essential vitamins. I'm also going to write my nutritional intake in order to keep track or how I'm doing when I eat.<br /><br />Having a journal has so far been a beneficial move towards the right direction. I was doing well with taking my vitamins minerals and eating essential nutrition foods before the holidays. I will get back to my routine of eating right and always taking my vitamins minerals, but I do need to get more active. The job I have is an active one, but I know I need to break a sweat. It was funny, I baked some delicious bakery items, but being that I hardly eat that many sweets anymore, I didn’t feel like eating that many Christmas cookies or other really sweet stuff. When you start eating the right types of essential nutrition food, which are delicious too, your desire for the high caloric food loses its appeal and sometimes doesn't sit well with you either. Weight loss begins with the mind. When I have a goal, I set an intention. An intention is a thought and it begins with the mind. Weight loss is my main goal this year. So, I set the intention of losing weight. I also set a deadline for losing weight. By May, I will be tight and toned.<br /><br />I then write down my intention and repeat it in the morning and right before I go to bed. I do this in front of the mirror. For some reason, I feel much more accountable seeing myself read it. I say my intention with feeling. Soon, my intention becomes an affirmation. <br /><br />My affirmation helps me stay focused when I'm working out and the negative thoughts come into play. Every time I've worked out this week, I always feel as if I'm at war with myself. I'm sure I will eventually get used to the prospect of working out, but with new physical challenges, I have a feeling that I will experience a mental challenge every single day.<br /><br />I sit and I meditate on my goal sometime during my day. I have found that yoga or pilates is more challenging than it sounds and is a great way to work those core muscles. If your core is strong your whole body works better. <br /><br />My weight loss goals fluctuate depending on what is happening in my life. I have been overweight and underweight at certain times, currently I like my body, and as you know, that may not be the easiest thing to accomplish! I especially like what yoga and&nbsp;pilates offer in the&nbsp;maintenance of my weight loss. The classes work the entire body. I find the bonus of the mind connection to be wonderful.<br /><br />At the&nbsp;end of a yoga or pilates class&nbsp;I am quite relaxed and at peace. You can experience weight loss with a hip hop workout routine. My local gym recently offered a new aerobics class called Hip Hop. Of course I had heard of hip hop before but had no idea what an aerobics class involving this type of dance would be like, so I had to try it. I have found weight loss and a new passion!<br /><br />The high energy hip hop workout has forced me to use my body in different ways than I am accustomed to. A typical hip hop class starts with a warm up. It moves you all directions and incorporates big movements like slides and hops then it slows down for a brief stretch. The format is an add on combination deal, movements are repeated frequently. I quickly learned the patterns,&nbsp;was able&nbsp;to keep up with&nbsp;the rest of the class and let me tell you, I began to sweat a lot! Hence the weight loss!<br /><br />After a hip hop workout I feel absolutely great! I leave with a sense of achievement, my mood is elevated and the smile on my face is infectious. I have found kickboxing to be a nice and extremely effective change of pace in my exercise routine. Plus I have&nbsp;learned a bunch of self-defense moves along the way. Not a bad thing!<br /><br />Kickboxing combines a variety of martial arts movements including T'ai Chi, Tae&nbsp;Kwon Do, Karate and&nbsp;Kung Fu. <br />The practice includes powerful leg and arm movements with slow, smooth movements that emphasize breathing. The varying muscle movements and speeds got me in shape and produced weight loss&nbsp;while it reduced my blood pressure. Again, not a bad thing!&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<br /><br />This workout has helped me in my weight loss goals, to improve body tone, build muscle strength, flexibility and balance.&nbsp;A warmup is essential before&nbsp;starting the class. I wiggle my toes, twist my ankles, do head tilts, shrug the shoulders, and twist my neck. I also do stretches for the back and then I am set.
