My New Year’s resolution was to lose weight. It is my New Year’s resolution every year, but this year I am serious about it. I have to be. My weight has become a health issue, not one of vanity. I have tried to lose the weight on my own for months. I have finally accepted that I need help with my weight loss. I may have put the weight on by myself but it is going to take more than me to take it off.

 I signed up for a couple of low stress exercise classes. The classes will help with my weight loss, because I can do the exercises. I won’t become frustrated and discouraged because they are too hard or cause me pain. My doctor directed me to a good weight loss support group. It's nice to be able to talk with others who are going through the same thing as I am. It has been tremendous help. They offer seminars on why we eat the way we do, stress eating, emotional eating, and more. All have been eye opening, and helpful. With all this help I think I can succeed this time.
