weight lossMy baby is about to turn nine months old.  I thought by now that I would be back to my pre-pregnancy weight, but that hasn't happened.  It can be frustrating when you not only have a new baby and you're tired, but nothing fits and you just don't feel like yourself.

Weight loss takes time and preparation and the right state of mind.  We all know that a good, healthy diet and regular exercise is the best solution to most weight loss issues.  As new moms we need to remember to take our time when it comes to weight loss.  Diet pills and starving yourself is not healthy at all and even though you may lose some weight quickly it will most likely come back.

If you are nursing your baby it's important to eat regular healthy meals to ensure good quality nourishment for your baby.  Weight loss will be much easier if you are already in the habit of eating well.  I once had a nutritionist tell me that 80% of weight loss depends on your diet; so healthy food choices are a definite must when trying to reach your weight loss goals.

It's also important to make sure you get a break from time to time.  Ask your husband to watch the baby while you take a walk or spend a few minutes on the treadmill.  You will feel much more relaxed and even energized if you can take some time and do something good for yourself.

So, be patient with yourself.  Weight loss won't happen overnight, but with the right mindset it will happen.
